Lighthouse
Lyrics StoryLighthouse
Hide me from the rain
When the storm winds blow
And the sea rages again
Without a glimpse of star-beam glow
Broken dreams no open door I got lost somehow
Scars run deeper than before I’m here at sundown
CHORUS
I need a lighthouse to find my way
I need a lighthouse to find my way
Oh, it seemed like I almost lost the rhyme
Oh, seemed like I couldn’t help life passing by But you’re my lighthouse
Afraid, that’s how I’d been
All these countless years
What was inside of me was lost In the land of fear
But scars they heal and no more will I lose myself now
CHORUS
You’re my lighthouse. I’ll find my way
You’re the lighthouse. I’ll find my way
Oh, it seemed like I almost lost the rhyme
Oh, seemed like I couldn’t help life passing by
I know a new day will come
I know that we’ll see the sun
You’re my lighthouse
CHORUS
Lighthouse
Many of my songs stem from my experiences and so does this song as well. At some point of my life I felt like fighting to find my way in life and when writing this song those memories came back to life.

Breathe
Lyrics StoryBreathe
I just wanted to see the stars shining bright
Not to worry how to get by
But somebody turned of my lights
And now I lie awake at night
Sweet songs of silence I sing
When I had the world on a string
Cause nobody told me it would be this hard
Life could tear my dreams apart
When life gives you pause
And after it all
You’re on your knees on the floor
Desperate for that open door
CHORUS
So baby breathe
’cause your life ain’t over, please hold on
Though life ain’t easy your heart’s still beating and you’re believing
Just breathe
’cause your life ain’t over, please hold on
Though life ain’t easy your heart’s still beating and you’re believing
Anyway
You say: Can’t you hear the birds, how they sing
Lovely melodies of spring?
But I lost myself in the dark
How do you turn, when when you’ve come this far?
When life gives you pause
And after it all
You’re on your knees on the floor
But I stick to grace ‘cause it offers me so much more
CHORUS
Anyway, anyway
So baby breathe, your life ain’t over
You’ll be so much stronger when this is over
CHORUS
Breathe
In this song I’m remembering the mornings when nothing was making sense and it was hard even to get out of the bed. Understanding that I’m not alone with my feelings I wrote a song that would remind me and others that even in our darkest days life ain’t over and all it takes to stick to grace and breathe.

Moonlight
(Instrumental)
StoryMoonlight
This is a kantele melody and I was in a very sentimental mood when composing this one. For some reason this melody reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. I had a big poster of her on my bedroom wall for many years and maybe with this song I just longed to be back in those golden days.

Sunrise
Lyrics StorySunrise
We stayed up late last night
But I don’t mind because I love the sunrise
And when she smiles her eyes are like mine
These summerdays oh, how quickly they fly by
I don’t wanna close my eyes
Cause I’ve found the perfect rhyme
CHORUS
For a moment the whole world is standing still
For a moment the world is mine
I’ll always remember this time
before the sunrise
I’d only heard of love
so fierce and strong
Burning in your soul
Your hand in mine and now I know
I doubt that my poor heart
will never be the same
But I wouldn’t change a day
If only we could stay this way
CHORUS
Sunrise
Our daughter Elle was born in 2018. She turned my life around but only in the most positive way. I wrote this song for her wishing that she would never grow up. When she came around it felt like the hours and the days were just flying by like never before and before I’d know it she’d be all grown up. I’m saying a lot of things in this song but most of all I’m hoping the time would just stand still for the brief moment when she’s here with me.

“THIS SONG GOES BACK TO MAY 2017. I WAS RETURNING HOME FROM POLAND WHEN I HEARD THE NEWS THAT OUR FRIEND AND A MOTHER OF TWO HAD PASSED AWAY. SHE WAS A TRUE FIGHTER, A MESSENGER OF HOPE AND A PERSON WHO REALLY LIVED HER LIFE TO THE FULLEST. SHE TAUGHT ME HOW IN EVEN THE MOST HOPELESS SITUATION THERE’S ALWAYS HOPE AND HOW PRAYERS MOVE MOUNTAINS. THIS SONG IS IN HER MEMORY.”
Close your eyes, darling
Lay here with me, follow me through the dark
Don’t you worry lost in reality
’Cause my heart it beats with your heart
The winter breeze is here to freeze but I beg you please
CHORUS
Don’t let it reach your soul
Don’t let it reach your soul
Don’t let it reach your soul
’Cause we don’t worry, no, no
We don’t worry what tomorrow brings
We don’t worry if there’s no songbird to sing
Don’t you be afraid, darling, lay here with me
Everything is gonna be alright
You can tell that ol’ anxiety that we’ll wake up
in the bright morning light
The winter breeze is here to freeze but I beg you please
CHORUS
Come now, darling, don’t you see, take my hand
For you I’d conquer a thousand seas, I’ll do all that I can
We don’t worry
We don’t worry
CHORUS

This song goes back to May 2017. I was returning home from Poland when I heard the news that our friend and a mother of two had passed away. She was a true fighter, a messenger of hope and a person who really lived her life to the fullest. She taught me how in even the most hopeless situation there’s always hope and how prayers move mountains. This song is in her memory.

Remember me
Lyrics StoryRemember me
I keep hearing melodies in my sleep
But when I try to catch them they run from me
And I’ve been trying to stay on the brighter side
But I fail every time the more I try
And I’m too damn proud to change the scene
It feels like every word whispers your name
But I just can’t hear what they say
CHORUS
Remember me
Remember me
Remember me when you’re gone
And I cry out your name like I’m crazy
And there’s no song for me
Gone with you are all the shades of green
And now the days are dusty and the nights are mean
Guess I opened a door I now can’t close
But I’m hanging on the hope to bring you back home
And it’s more and more like life’s making fun of me
It feels like every word whispers your name
But I just can’t hear what they say
CHORUS
And now that I’m on my own
I still try to get you on the phone
And through these smoky days of spring I’m following
CHORUS
Remember me
The end of May 2017 was beautiful. The nature was so green and fragrant but for us grieving for our friend it was dull, brown and dusty. In the song I wanted to say how much we missed her and how empty it all felt now that she was gone.

Viimeinen valssi
Lyrics StoryViimeinen valssi
Viimeinen valssi on kaunis ja hento
Hiljalleen hyräilen melodiaa
Kevyesti, kuin pääskysen lento
Väsyneen tanssijan mukaansa saa
Kun jotakin päättyy, niin jotakin jää
Vaan niin pian aika rientää
CHORUS
Saisinko luvan viimeiseen valssiin
Kun soitto pian lakkaa ja yö kujertaa?
Askeleet tanssivat tähtien tahtiin
Ja kello lyö aikaa, se aikaa, aikaa on vaan
Tuttuja teitä ja polkuja pitkin
Astellut oon usein unissani
Jos monesti takaisin kaipasin, itkin
Pian saan mä jälleen ne suunnakseni
Ja jotakin päättyy, mut jotakin jää
Ei muistoja voi himmentää
CHORUS
Saisinko luvan viimeiseen valssiin
Kun soitto pian lakkaa ja yö kujertaa?
Askelten kaiku kuiskaa: näkemiin
Huomisen kirkkaassa aamussa näemme taas
Viimeinen valssi
Six days before Elle was born my grandma passed away. She spent her final years in a nursing home but I recall how she always longed to be back on her farm where she had raised her family with my late grandpa. The day she was gone I wish she got the chance to glance at her beloved home one more time.

CAPITAL LETTERS
Lyrics StoryCAPITAL LETTERS
Mmm
Don’t give up now
You’ve got all you need and you know how
Mmm
Just have a little bit of faith
Faith moves mountains, for the fateful brave
The rough winds may come
The clouds of doubt
And the ruthless drums
CHORUS
So, hear me
This is our story
We’ll write it in capital letters
This is our story
No one can live this life any better
Don’t fear the years rolling by
All they do is steal and haunt
And oh, how fast they’ll fly
The rough winds may come
The clouds of doubt
And the ruthless drums
CHORUS
And on the edge of the moment when diamonds are made
We’ll shine like the Northern Stars, and we will find our way
CAPITAL LETTERS
I wrote this song just 2 weeks before the pandemics hit Finland in 2020 including bold lines in living our lives in capital letters. Suddenly, thanks to the pandemics, everything was changed. It took me a year to come back to the song, so discouraged I was because of the sudden change in the music field caused by the pandemics. When reading the lyrics again I wanted to add some lines about rough winds, clouds of doubt and ruthless drums. Of one thing I was certain of: this is the life that we will write in capital letters!

Heaven is for me
Lyrics StoryHeaven is for me
This heart has carried love before
And weathered storms when the thunders roar
And when life was scattered on the floor
This heart has kept the faith
And when I’m weary and low
I come to the River and this I know
CHORUS
Heaven is there for me
Heaven is there for me
Heaven is there for me
Heaven is there for me
This heart has laughed, this heart has cried
And it has faced the faceless nights
But not alone, you by my side
This heart has played the game
And when I’m weary and low
I come to the River and this I know
CHORUS
I stand at the banks, yet I can’t see
But I will one day, yes I believe
Here we grieve, but there we are free
I stand at the banks Yet I can’t see
But I will one day Yes I believe
You call me by my name And I believe
Heaven is for me
My sister-in-law lost her son on the first summer of the pandemics. He was 26 years old. Devastated by what has happened, one afternoon in the Fall at our kitchen table, I wrote about a heart that has loved and weathered storms before. And when weary of life and standing on the banks of the River, knowing that the one you love the most is on the other side, you know that the day will come when you see each other again.

Sunshine
Lyrics StorySunshine
I can row through the starless nights
I can light up the city lights
Baby, mmm-mmmm
I can ride on a thunder storm
I’m fearless when the oceans roar
Baby, mmm-mmmm
But I’m shipwrecked every time if I don’t have you
CHORUS
Baby you’re my sunshine
Baby you’re my sunshine
Baby you’re my sunshine
When I dream I dream about you, baby be mine
I can calm the unsettled seas
But without you baby I’m on my knees,
ooh
No sorrow too wide my heart can’t bear
You can count on me I will be there,
ooh
My soul can’t find its way home baby if I don’t have you
CHORUS
Baby you’re my sunshine
Baby you’re my sunshine
Baby you’re my sunshine
When I dream I dream about you, baby be mine
The world rages, unsettled
But for me it’s changed for good
Like opening my eye for the first time
Is when I saw you
CHORUS
Baby you’re my sunshine
Baby you’re my sunshine
Baby you’re my sunshine
When I dream I dream about you, baby be mine
Sunshine
Our daughter Charlotte was born in the summer of 2020. She was absolutely the best thing the year 2020 had to offer. She was that bright spark of life when everything else was getting darker. She keeps on being the sunshine I longed for so much back in the days and I couldn’t imagine life without her anymore.

When I was 10
Lyrics StoryWhen I was 10
When I was 10
We’d dream about boys and summer
The nights were merry and days would never end
When I was 10
We painted with all the colors
The world was wild and free
CHORUS
And it seemed that summer would last forever
We’d always be together, you and I
And it seems I never learnt to fly
And time flashes by, it flashes by
And I was older
Life changed its colors
It was more black and grey and less brighter days
The world was colder
Where are the colors
Of days so wild and free
CHORUS
And I keep rolling down these dusty roads
They don’t lead back home
And I still cannot fly
CHORUS
And I keep rolling down these dusty roads
They don’t lead back home
When I was 10
When growing up my best friend and I would do almost everything together. We became friends in elementary school and it really felt so comfortable to have a really good friend. I still remember that one summer when she no longer wanted to be my best friend. Junior high was just about to begin. I felt so lost. I had never thought there would be a time I wouldn't have my best friend by my side and now I was facing my worst fear – to be left alone. In this song I travel back to the happy days of summer when we were still best friends but how things in life rarely stay the same. I felt a bit nostalgic writing this but also saddened by the events as I carried the wounds of what had happened far into my adult life.
